NDB Swims Fast

The JV swim team continues to work hard. Yesterday against Cathedral they posted several best times despite being short handed due to sickness. Coach Courtney has done a wonderful job with the group and I have a feeling they are ready to post some fast swims next weekend. Freshman Allie Adamis has had multiple standout preformances throughout the duel meet season and was recently promoted to the Varsity where she has had an immediate impact. Junior Alexis Clark continues to improve in the 100 breaststroke dropping 2 more seconds yesterday.

The Varsity team also wrapped up its duel meet season yesterday with a victory over Cathedral, its second team victory this season. It has been a long 4 weeks of tough, intense practices, and we are now beginning to see the fruits of our efforts. We placed 12 of 26 teams at the Clovis West Invitational which is our highest placing to date. Several swimmers posted multiple best times at the meet and Senior Megan Schiel punctuated the weekend by achieving her CCS cut in the 100 breaststroke. The swim was her fastest un-rested time ever. She now joins teammate Callie Garcia (200IM, 100 Backstroke, 100 Breaststroke) and the 200 Medley Relay as having already achieved CCS qualifying standards. Freshman Allie Adamis (pulled up after Tuesday's SI duel meet) helped our 200 Freestyle relay drop 2.5 seconds to pull within 1 second of the CCS qualifying time. Our 400 Freestyle relay is also looking primed to qualify, holding steady, 2 seconds off the standard. Our results thus far have been due to a total team commitment and I cannot wait to see what we bring next weekend!
